Fans unable to contain their anticipation have begun the search for Demon Slayer manga now that the episode 11 marked the end of season 3. Although studio Ufotable has confirmed the production of season 4 of Demon Slayer, there is no information available regarding its release date other than the fact that it will premiere sometime in 2024.

Following the conclusion of the Swordsmith Village arc, the only arcs left to cover include the Hashira Training arc, which Demon Slayer season 4 will cover, and the Final Battle arc, which has been divided into two sub-arcs – Infinity Castle arc and Sunrise Countdown arc. So, before the season 4 arrives, here’s a chance for fans to pick up the manga and be updated with the plot before the premiere.

The latest arc covered chapters 98 to 127, which followed Tanjiro’s journey into the Swordsmith Village in search of a new sword after the previous one was broken in battle. The season concludes with his battle against the Upper Moon Four, Hantengu.

Chapter 128 through 136 covers the Hashira Training arc of the Demon Slayer manga, which sees Tanjiro and his friends’ intense training with the Hashiras to prepare for the battle to come. Meanwhile, Muzan continues his search for Nezuko’s location to consume her, which would give him the ability to overcome the effects of sunlight.

The arc will follow the Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and the Hashiras in an epic-showdown between the demon slayers and the Upper Moons. However, since the arc consists of large number of chapters, it has been divided into the Infinity Castle arc, which covers chapter 137 to 183, and the Sunrise Countdown arc covering the rest 22 chapters.

It is unclear as of now if the fourth season will include the Infinity Castle arc since it cover a fairly large part of the series. However, it is quite possible that the season will not cover the whole storyline and may divide it into two cours.

Demon Slayer Season 3 wraps up its run with Chapter 127 from the original Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga. Entertainment District Arc was undoubtedly one of the best story arcs for Demon Slayer fans. The last few episodes of Season 2 were on the same level as the Mugen Train movie in terms of animation, sound effects, and voice acting.

With Demon Slayer season 3 set to premiere in April 2023, fans of the franchise are hyped up for it. The upcoming season will adapt the Swordsmith Village arc from the manga.

Koyoharu Gotouge’s Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the story of Kamado Tanjiro, who becomes a demon slayer to find a cure for his only surviving family member – sister Nezuko, who became a demon herself after Demon King Kibutsuji Muzan attacked the entire Kamado family. The Swordsmith Village arc covers 30 chapters from the Demon Slayer manga, spanning from chapter 98 to chapter 127.

The same has also been featured as part of the Demon Slayer -To the Swordsmith Village- movie, which contains the final two episodes of the Entertainment District arc and the first episode of the Swordsmith Village arc. Considering how Kimetsu no Yaiba: Entertainment District arc was 11 episodes long, fans can expect the third season to also be that long, given how the arc has 28 chapters as opposed to Swordsmith Village arc’s 30 chapters.

Thus, fans can expect at most three more installations in the series, though their format cannot be confirmed for now. If the anime’s third season decides to adapt the Hashira Training arc as well, fans can expect the season to be three more episodes long, although it has not been confirmed as part of the plans.

Given how he has repeatedly gotten his sword destroyed, Hotaru Haganezuka, the swordsmith who created it, refused to repair it. Thus, Tanjiro had to travel to the village and explain how the sword was so badly damaged to get it repaired.

Although we know it’s coming, it’s going to be awhile before the fourth season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba arrives on our screens. (We do know that the season is currently mid-production at time of writing, however.) While that’s a sad thing on one hand — no new Demon Slayer for months.

These flashbacks usually only take up a portion of the episode and are used to flesh out the backstory of the demon that Tanjiro and his friends are currently facing. as such, they don’t really affect the watch order of the show, though they can have a big impact on its pacing.

The confusion comes from the inclusion of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, which covers the Mugen Train Arc of the manga. Portions of these two movies were then reused during the anime series with added scenes, meaning that there is some repeated material.

Here is the chronological watch order for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba:. It is much easier to watch Demon Slayer in release order since you don’t have to skip between the anime and the film.

There are episodes for Demon Slayer on several different streaming platforms, depending on where you live. Netflix has the first 33 episodes of the show and, in some territories, the Mugen Train movie.

The new season will adapt the Hashira Training arc, the official synopsis of which runs as follows: “Tanjiro goes to see the Stone Hashira, Himejima, who intends to prepare him for the battles to come. Meanwhile, the demon lord Muzan continues to search for the location of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.”. No release date has been announced for the fourth season, but to date, Demon Slayer seasons have arrived in two-year intervals: Season 1 in 2019, Season 2 in 2021, and Season 3 this year.

The last two years have been quite happening for the fans of Demon Slayer, and from the looks of it, 2023 is not going to disappoint either. As confirmed by the official website, Demon Slayer Season 3 will release sometime in April 2023 on TV and streaming platforms as weekly episodes, making it a part of the spring cour.

But hardcore fans don’t have to wait as long. Following the trend of most TV anime, the first episode of the 3rd season will premiere in theaters as a promotional event.

The theatrical event focusing on Demon Slayer Season 3 is titled “World Tour Jōei: Kimetsu no Yaiba Jōgen Shūketsu, Soshite Katanakaji no Sato e”, which translates to “World Tour Screenings: Demon Slayer: The Upper Ranks Gather and Onward to the Swordsmith Village”. In season 2 of Demon Slayer, our protagonists along with Tengen Uzui, the sound Hashira, venture into the entertainment district where Tengen’s agents have gone missing. They soon discover that a demon is secretly residing in and controlling the entire district while using its residents as pawns.

Season 2 ends with our heroes fighting the demon siblings: Daki and Gyotaro. They turn out to be an unfathomable opponent due to their impressive coordination and unpredictable moves.

But this victory isn’t just a regular one. Daki was an Upper Moon Demon and had a direct connection with Muzan Kibutsuji, the main antagonist of Demon Slayer.

On the other side of things, this season also revealed that the Demon Slayer Association’s head, Kagaya Ubuyashiki is currently bedridden. Moreover, not every Hashira is as excited as others about the turn of events.

With that, the defeat of an Upper Moon demon can be considered a major success but the DSA, as a whole, is currently not at its strongest.

Season 3 of the anime will open with Manga volume 12, which is described by Viz Media as under: For the first time in over 100 years, the upper ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki are not full.

Elsewhere, Tanjiro journeys to a village of swordsmiths and has to explain how his sword was so badly damaged to Haganezuka, the smith who made it. While Tanjiro waits for his sword to be repaired, enemies close in….

Since the swords are the most important for the Demon Slayer Association, the location of this village is a heavily guarded secret. Without it, the demon slayers can’t get their Nichirin blades, which are the only reliable way to defeat the demons.

To make things worse, the group of demons consists of two Upper Moons, namely Hantengu and Gyokko. These two demons have come to destroy the village, and while Tanjiro has Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira’s support, they still might not be good enough to win this fight.

Moreover, one of the demons can make copies of itself and can even heal instantly. So, the demon slayers are not only outpowered, they are outnumbered as well.

We can’t wait to find out ourselves.

So, the anime adaptation should have around 11-12 episodes in total, which is similar to the Entertainment District Arc (aka season 2), which has 11 episodes.

Other Important Characters with unknown voice actors:. Unless new contracts are completed around the upcoming season, Demon Slayer season 3 will available on the same platforms as earlier seasons.

Demon Slayer season 1 concludes with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu learning that an enormous train has become the site of numerous casualties and demon sightings. The Demon Slayer Corps sends Tanjiro to rid this locomotive of its evil.

The final moments of the season conjure a real feeling of a chapter coming to a close due to how the Mugen Train literally separates characters from the rest of the cast. Season one carries a mysterious energy of never knowing a Demon Slayer may unexpectedly jump in to help Tanjiro, but that possibility vanishes in something like a moving vehicle.

It’s a strong mix of characters in a confined space. Much of Tanjiro’s mission in season one of Demon Slayer is that he’s desperate to keep his sister, Nezuko, safe from execution and return her to her non-demon state.

Nezuko’s temper becomes more in control as the season progresses and Tanjiro is able to demonstrate that she does still have some free will left inside of her, but she’s still a long way from being back to normal. It’s unclear if Nezuko will get cured or if she’ll just find a normalcy in her demon state, but Tanjiro has become more protective of her than ever and their bond will absolutely be important in what’s to come.

The trio work great as a team, but much of the season has Zenitsu and Inosuke trailing behind Tanjiro. The final episodes show that all three of them put serious work into their Total Concentration Breathing techniques.

The two haven’t been given an opportunity to show off their new skills yet, but it’s likely that the Mugen Train will mark their first big test of strength. Demon Slayer is a series that continually moves forward, which means many of its big cast of characters can get left in the past.

As Tanjiro and company board the Mugen Train and beyond, it’s likely that these characters from specific regions may not be seen again and that new allies will be encountered. However, it looks like the Hashira will only have a more important role in what’s to come as the animosity between the Twelve Demon Moons and the Demon Slayer Corps festers.

This finale is somewhat muted in comparison to some of the series’ bigger episodes, but the ending immediately teases the continuation of the anime’s story in the movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. It’s not unusual for popular anime to get supplementary movies, but they often feature extra stories that can exist on their own.

The Demon Slayer manga finally came to an end when Muzan was killed and the Demon Slayer Corps won. Their triumph was a great triumph since it put an end to the Demons’ rule and permanently wiped out the Demon race.

Of course, the first climax was Muzan’s defeat by sunlight as the Demon Slayer Corps was never able to vanquish him due to his original overwhelming strength. It reached its apex when Tanjiro transformed into a demon and Muzan was vanquished.

I made the decision to record every aspect of the last few minutes of the last fight in order to learn more about the entire Demon Slayer conclusion. Along with understanding the significance of the longer finale for the series, you will also comprehend the author’s reasoning for including it.

Of all the things 2020 has come to be known for, movie releases breaking box office records wasn’t one of them. But one film defied the odds.

16., the animated film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train ended a 19-year record held by the Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away. Hitting $313 million in ticket sales in December, the movie overtook director Hayao Miyazaki’s magnum opus to become the country’s highest-grossing film of all time.

In the months since, the film—based on the manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge—has broken another record previously set by Spirited Away: Mugen Train is now the highest-grossing anime movie in the world. It is set for theatrical release in the U.S.

Before the film made headlines for shattering records, the Demon Slayer franchise was already amassing a dedicated global fanbase. Both the manga that was first published in 2016 and the television series adapted from the manga have recorded feats of their own.

In this fictional world set in early 20th century Taishō-era Japan, man-eating demons roam the land each night. 13-year-old Tanjiro Kamado’s world is turned upside down when he returns home one morning to find his entire family murdered save for his sister Nezuko—who has turned into a demon.

The story follows him as he joins this underground organization of skilled fighters who dedicate their lives to protecting humans from the vicious creatures. Koyoharu Gotouge (recently featured as a part of the 2021 TIME 100 Next) wrote and illustrated Demon Slayer.

Despite not much about Demon Slayer’s author being known to the public, those who collaborate closely with Gotouge are familiar with their work ethic. “I have known Gotouge sensei [the honorific term for teacher in Japanese] since the start of their career, and they were not necessarily without fault at the beginning,” Kohei Ohnishi, an Editor-in-Chief of Weekly Shonen Jump who edits Demon Slayer, tells TIME.

Though Gotouge’s schedule has not been shared before, the daily work routines of manga authors are reputed to be rigorous. For instance, Oda Eiichiro—the creator of One Piece—has shared about sleeping regularly from 2 AM to 5 AM to work on his manuscript.

“Their characters are all unique, yet still rooted in reality, and that’s a very difficult balance to strike,” Ohnishi says. “In addition, there are a number of memorable lines filled with originality in Demon Slayer.”.

The series first appeared in a 2016 issue of the manga magazine, and ran periodically until its final volume was released in 2020. While the print volumes saw moderate success in Japan during its first years of serialization, its popularity surged in 2019—the same year that the 26-episode television adaptation of the manga aired.

Based on the pure artistry of its battle scenes alone, Demon Slayer began to be regarded as one of the best action anime of all time. Shortly after the TV series completed airing, the manga ended an 11-year-streak held by One Piece to become Japan’s best-selling manga of the year in 2019, according to the Oricon chart.

Hiroyuki Nakano, another Editor-in-Chief of Weekly Shonen Jump, discussed Demon Slayer’s success and how it reflected the evolving relationship between manga and anime in a 2020 interview. “Normally, a manga gradually sells more copies throughout the anime’s run, but Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s sales shot up straight after the anime ended,” Nakano told Nikkei Entertainment.

“No matter how great a manga it is, it won’t become a hit just because it ran in Jump,” Nakano said. The following year saw Gotouge’s series dominating sales even more.

An estimated 3.95 million copies of the final volume were published. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train was released in 2020, when the manga was at the height of its popularity.

Japan’s box office fell by 45% in 2020, but ticket sales for foreign films saw a much more significant decrease (down 71%) compared to that of Japanese films (down 23%). The success of Mugen Train helped bolster the ticket sales of domestic movies.

On Oct. 16, the film was released in more than 400 theaters across Japan, and The New York Times reported that one theater in Tokyo scheduled 42 showings of Mugen Train on opening day beginning at 7 AM.

(The Matrix Reloaded, which drew in $20.8 million, had set the previous record back in 2003.). In the weeks and months that followed, Mugen Train shattered one box office record after another.

(It took Spirited Away 25 days to hit the same number.) In the past, a mix of domestic animated movies and foreign films have seen the most success in the country. Besides Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle—both from Studio Ghibli—as well as Makoto Shinkai’s 2016 hit project Your Name have ranked in Japan’s top 10 highest-grossing films.

In December, Mugen Train ended the streak of the long-reigning title in the first seat, surpassing Spirited Away to become Japan’s highest-grossing movie of all time. The Demon Slayer manga was made available to audiences outside of Japan from its initial publication.

Starting in 2018, Viz began to periodically release new volumes of the series in English. Similarly, the Demon Slayer TV show has streamed on Hulu and popular U.S.-based, anime-focused sites Crunchyroll and Funimation—with English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese subtitles offered on both platforms and English dubbing on the latter.

The series is now even more accessible to global viewers, after hitting Netflix in January. Watching the TV series is highly recommended, as the film Mugen Train picks up where the 2019 series leaves off.
