This is a pretty popular question that people have. The answer for how much it costs to make copies is – it varies.

Each place charges its own rate, and the amount you’ll end up paying will also depend on factors, like whether you need the copies to be in black and white or color, how many copies you need, and what size you need the copies to be. So, it’s hard to give an exact figure.

Of course, those are just rough figures, so do enquire at your local store, or whatever location it is, to ask for specific prices. Some of the places we list below state how much copies cost on their websites, but other stores say that you have to visit one of their locations to get an exact price.

There are some places where you can get copies for free. Advertisements.

We’ll cover those first below. The free places are good since you don’t have to pay anything to make copies.

With the paid places it’s more convenient. Okay, so now that you have an idea of how much it costs to make copies, let’s take a look at some of the places where you can actually get copies made.

These options won’t work for everyone, but before you head out to a local store, it’s worth taking a look at these options for making free copies first. If you have a friend or a family member with a copier, then consider asking them if you can use it to make copies.

You might be able to use the copy machine at work if there is one. Of course, you need to check with your boss first.

If you live in an apartment complex, then there may be a small business center in the leasing office that includes a copy machine. You may be able to use this copy machine to make copies for free.

And copy machines are often available in these business centers, and sometimes they’re free for guests to use. If you’re traveling and you need to make free copies, then this is ideal.

It’s always worth asking the hotel staff if copy services are available too, as they may be able to use their copier to make copies for you. Being student has a lot of benefits, one of them is being able to print out free copies.

You’ll need to be a student there, of course. If you can’t make copies for free using one of the options above, then you can still find places to make them at a reasonable price.

Some stores also offer a discount if you print in bulk, so the price per page may drop if you print a lot of copies. Also, before we get started on the list of places, we just want to answer a popular question.

And the answer is no. Walmart offers a lot of services, such as check cashing and money orders, but it doesn’t allow you to make copies.

FedEx, once known as Kinko’s, offers copy and print services. You can copy and print, and you can also print digital documents and documents from the cloud.

Also, you can also order copies online and pick them up at your local FedEx store or get them sent to your home. So, it’s definitely one of the most convenient options on this list.

There are more than 4,400 locations in the United States. So if you’re looking for copy services near you, then you’re sure to be able to find one of its stores near you.

Also, you can order your copies online and get them delivered to you or pick them up at your local store. You just need to upload the document that you need copies of into the online document builder, and then select from the drop down options to choose things like how many copies you would like.

At Staples, you can get color and black and white copies made. You can get color copies made for as low as $0.13 a page and black and white copies made for as low as $0.04 per page.

Next on our list is your local library. Local libraries aren’t just places to get free books.

This fee varies from place to place, so be sure to check with your library to see how much it costs to use their copier if they have one. Just do a quick Internet search to find your nearest library – entering your town’s name followed by the term “library,” will yield plenty of results.

Postal Service locations shave a copy machine that the public can use. It’s not mentioned on the USPS website, so it’s hard to give any details.

Many community centers, such as meeting halls for citizens, or local recreation centers, that are operated by the government or by non-profit organizations, have copy machines that the public can use. Just check with your local community center to find out if there’s a copier available for you to use.

Black and white copies start at $0.09 a page, and color copies start at $0.42 per page. You’ll just need to upload the document that you want to copy.

Costco is a great store to save money on everything, including copies. Some Costco locations, including Costco Wholesale and Costco Business Center, offer copier services, but not all of them do.

You can get color copies for as low as 15 cents and black and white copies for as low as 2.5 cents. Alternatively, you can order copies online, and have them delivered to your local Costco Warehouse.

By the way, you actually can shop at Costco without a membership. Some Sam’s club locations offer copying services.

Prices vary, depending on the type of document you need copies of, and whether you need color or black and white copies. For example, you can get 100 brochures for $59.96 and 100 postcards for $24.96.

It offers tons of different printing and copying services, such as color copying, black and white copying, digital printing and book printing. Prescriptions and health and beauty supplies aren’t the only things you can get at your local CVS store.

You can copy and print documents or digital files at KODAK Picture Kiosks at CVS. You can also make copies of digital documents from USB devices, which is super convenient.

Here’s how much it costs to make copies at CVS pharmacies: CVS isn’t the cheapest place to get copies made, but it does have a lot of locations that offer copying services, so it’s definitely one of the more convenient options.

Some Hy-Vee stores have a copy machine that you can use to make copies. Grocery store Coborn’s offers coping services to its customers.

You can find a copier located near the service counter in Coborn’s stores. Fiesta Mart is a grocery store with stores located throughout Texas.

Just call your local store and ask. If you need photo copies, your local Walgreens store is a great places to get them made cheap.

Prices vary based on the size. Here are a few example prices:

If you plan to make a lot of copies and don’t want to have to keep paying out or have the hassle of driving somewhere to print them, then you might want to consider purchasing your own copier. Buying a used copier is usually the cheapest option.

Of course, there’s the upfront cost of buying the copier, but once that’s out of the way, it’s a more convenient and often cheaper way to make copies, even when you factor in the price of buying paper and ink for printing. The thing is, there are a lot of places that offer copy services near you, but most are small mom and pop kind of shops that aren’t well-known national chains.

You can directly print any document from your Android phone without saving the file or transferring it to a computer. There are three ways of taking such printouts: 1) using a company plugin app available in Play Store, 2) using a third-party cloud printing app, and 3) connecting your Android phone to a printer-enabled computer over a USB cable.

Note: if you have a newer Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi direct printer, you may use any of these methods, preferably the first two. If you have an older wired printer which cannot connect to wireless networks, the last method is best.

You can easily find the company plugins for Canon, Samsung, Xerox, Brother, Lexmark, and other printers. The syncing steps will be different.

If using the HP Print service plugin, install the app, go to “Settings” and select “Discovery.”. For a Wi-Fi direct printer, enable Wi-Fi direct to automatically sync your printer with the app.

Add a printer on a Wi-Fi network as shown below. Click “directly to the printer” in case a printer has already been added.

Before proceeding to the next step, you must know your printer’s IP address. There are more than a few ways to obtain it.

The third step is shown here for a printer connected to a Windows computer.

In Windows 10, go to “Printer properties” and click “Change Sharing Options.” Once done, go back to the app and add the IP address. Give the printer a name of your choice.

If both your phone and the printer are on the same Wi-Fi network, they will sync. You can now use the app to take printouts directly from your Android phone.

If your printer does not have an official plugin in the Play Store, you can use a third-party cloud-printing app such as Cloud Printer.

To add the printer to the app, go to “Settings” and enter its IP address obtained in the previous section.

On a Windows 10 PC, go to the Start menu and look for “Bluetooth & other devices.” The Android phone should be visible here. Make sure the Android phone is visible on your computer.

For choosing a desired printer, use the option “Connected to a computer.”. In the next step, choose your operating system: macOS, Windows, or Linux.

Once the printer is set up, go back to your Android phone. Open the PDF, image file or any other document.

There are several ways where you can print directly using any Wi-Fi-enabled printer over a wireless network. But first, you will have to ensure that your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi or that is connected to your network so that way the phone could detect the printer when you’re ready to print.

With AirPrint, you can order a print job from an iPhone using an AirPrint-enabled printer. AirPrint works with WiFi without the need to install printer-specific drivers.

Before you begin you will have to make sure that your printer supports AirPrint and that your printer is connected to the same WiFi network and that you’re within range of. 2.

Then tap Print to start printing. 4.

You can print wirelessly from your Apple device to an AirPrint printer. Most popular printer models are AirPrint-enabled.

Just in case you are not set up to go directly to printing, this is the setup process: 1.

Check to see if your printer is added among your connected devices. You can do this by clicking on the printer pop-up menu, and choosing Nearby Printers or Printers & Scanners preferences and selecting your printer.

In some cases your device might not have an AirPrinter installed on it, in this case, you will need to update your Apple software. 5.

So make sure your app can print your emails for you. In the event that your printer isn’t AirPrint enabled you may still be able to print from your iPhone or iPad.

Go to the App Store and search for an app from your printer’s manufacturer that can help you print wirelessly. Another option is to look for third-party software like Printopia, Presto and Printer Pro by Readdle that lets you print to your Mac’s shared printers.

Printers then can be added to the device through the Printer Options menu. However, unlike most of the device’s settings menus, the ‘Printer Options’ menu cannot be accessed through the ‘Settings’ application.

There are some issues to check if your iPhone and printer are not working together. First off you need to make sure that your printer is AirPrint enabled.

AirPrint is a solution that helps you print documents and images without the need to download or install drivers. With it, you can print using your Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Adding a printer to your phone is easy. First, make sure that your iPhone and iPad have the latest update.

To do this you will need to select the ‘Print’ option on the particular file. Under the ‘Print’ option you can select the printer that you want to add to your iPhone.

Many AirPrint printers will also help create a hotspot for your devices to connect to. Open your Settings app from your Home screen, tap Wi-Fi, under ‘Choose a Network’ tap your printer name and tap ‘Join This Network’.

Tech gurus and prophets have been predicting the death of the printed page for a long time. They believe that online technology will take over, or everyone will have a “paperless office,” or people and businesses will get managed in the cloud.

The rise of networks and ubiquitous Internet access has reduced the need for printed documents, or at least reduced the need for people to have a printer of their own. Furthermore, printers are a somewhat antiquated technology, and those who use them frequently have many difficulties that have yet to be updated.

People typically use tablets and smartphones now and don’t have a desktop machine at home or work with a standalone printer. It isn’t just businesses that have moved away from using paper documents.

Turning in papers and other homework assignments is becoming an electronic process through sources like email, Web applications, and class-wide dropboxes. Regardless of the ‘paperless’ trend, you may still have times when you need to have a printer.

Luckily, you don’t need to stress out. There are printers everywhere, and finding one that you can use is often as simple as doing a quick Google search.

Here are some places to print a document. Libraries aren’t just for books.

While most people think of libraries simply as places to rent books and possibly DVDs, depending on your local selection, the truth is far more complicated. Libraries offer all sorts of services, depending on where you live, and one of those services is usually printing and computer access.

If you’re unsure whether your local library carries printing services, use this Google search to find your closest library, then visit their webpage. Look for a subsection or category for services or computer access.

Typically, libraries offer computer access for those who can’t print or use computers at home. Most libraries provide free use of PCs, and some don’t even require a library card to use them.

The expense can add up quickly when printing a bunch of documents, but for a five-page black and white paper, you’ll likely pay less than a dollar. Check with the library to see if you have to print using one of their computers or if they support wireless printing from your phone or laptop.

Some libraries even have 3D printers available for rental. However, these printers are usually part of “maker” programs and require you to take classes and show proficiency with the technology before they will give you access to their expensive machines.

Typically, your tuition comes with a printing quota that you can use towards printing documents while on campus. College campuses don’t place restrictions on what you can print, so whether you’re printing a paper for school or a shipping label to return that shirt you bought on Amazon that didn’t quite fit right, you’ll be good to go.

Though a dying breed, there are still dedicated stores around that provide copy and print services and offer supplies related to paper and other documents. This scenario does not include packaging and shipping stores like “The UPS Store” or “FedEx” stores.

You’ll want to search Google for copy and print stores nearby, though it may also bring up some of the other places on your list. Copy and print shops offer the advantage of precisely meeting the needs of people who require something printed and the disadvantage of premium prices for their services.

You may be surprised, but those businesses offer more than taking your Amazon returns and holiday gifts you’re sending. They also provide office services that may appeal to anyone trying to print a document before heading into work or school.

The UPS Store, for example, has more than 5,000 locations across the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada, and most of them offer copy and print services. According to their website, The UPS Store provides copies, printouts in black and white or color, single-sided or double-sided printing, multiple page sizes, and even lamination and binding for those that need an excellent report or essay.

Once you’ve submitted your file, you get an estimated time (for smaller documents, this seems to be pretty short), and you can go pick it up from the store when you’re ready. The prices were pretty competitive in our testing, giving us a color print for around 40 cents per page and a black-and-white document for 15 cents per page.

UPS offers many document file types for printing, including PDF,.doc,.jpeg, and even Photoshop and Illustrator documents. FedEx offers services with their “FedEx Office” stores, formerly known as “Kinko’s,” which compete directly with “The UPS Store.” There are fewer FedEx Office locations globally, with FedEx’s website saying there are over 2,000 locations throughout the United States and abroad.

Documents can be picked up or shipped to your location, though sending them adds more cost. Uploading documents to FedEx is easy, with support for multiple file types and even the option to upload straight from a cloud document service like “Google Drive” or “Dropbox.” If there’s one downside to using their service, it’s the price.

Regardless, It may vary depending on your location and competition. Call your FedEx Office store for pricing information.

If there’s a FedEx near you but not a UPS store, the decision is made for you anyway. Those are the two big-name stores, but you’ll still want to look around to see if you can find a locally-owned shipping company that may also offer printing and copying services.

Ordinarily, these services are reserved for the people who live there. However, the staff (at hotels in particular) are often delighted to let someone come in off the street with a quick print job in response to a polite request.

It never hurts to ask.

Though stores like “Office Depot,” “OfficeMax” (which is owned by Office Depot), and “Staples” exist to sell paper, printers, and other similar printing materials, they offer all sorts of printing options for you to use at your disposal.

Since they also provide mobile uploading through their iOS and Android apps, you don’t have to be on your computer to upload a document. Prices through Office Depot and OfficeMax are pretty cheap.

Even full-color pages were just 42 cents each when double-sided. It’s pretty easy to find an OfficeMax or Office Depot location near you, but you can also choose to have the product shipped to you for an additional cost.

While we’re focusing on document printing for the sake of this article, you can print out numerous types of projects using Office Depot’s printing software that you’ll find online. Like Office Depot/OfficeMax, Staples has online document uploading for easy pickup or shipment, offered at around 10 cents a page for black and white prints and about 50 cents per page for color prints.

Staples printing services are on pace with similar costs from libraries and direct competition like Office Depot. The Staples desktop web app for uploading documents is pretty easy to use, and you can pick up your printouts within a couple of hours of submission.

Mobile apps for Android are so numerous and varied that it’s possible these days to do most of the work of a conventional office from a single handheld device. However, handhelds can’t do everything (yet),.and the limitations of a small screen can make it preferable to share or print documents to a larger format.

For these times, you’ll need to know how to print and scan documents with Android, and that’s what this guide will enable you to do.

Android’s user base across the globe includes a fair number of device owners with older model phones and tablets or with hardware running operating systems based on older variants of the Android platform. If you’re in this position, your best bet for handling standard documents is Google Cloud Print.

For initial capturing of your documents, Google Drive for Android has its own in-built scanning tool. You can activate this by tapping the plus icon on the app’s front screen then choosing Scan.

Google apps like Gmail or the Microsoft Word app offer print functionality by way of a Print command which displays if you tap the three-line menu icon while viewing a document. In Google Docs, you can access that same menu by first tapping “Share & export” and then selecting “Print.”.

This would include most printers with built-in Wi-Fi functionality. These machines can communicate directly with the web and your phone once both of them are linked to your Google account.

You can register any printer connected to a computer for Google Cloud Print, though you may have to leave the computer switched on, if the printer doesn’t have its own direct line to the internet. To start, navigate your web browser to the Google Cloud Print online portal, log in with your credentials, then choose Add a Classic Printer from the menu.

Once it’s set up, your printer will automatically display as an option whenever you choose to print from an Android app so long as it’s installed on an Android device linked to the same Google account.

In previous years, if you wanted to scan or print documents with Android from proprietary hardware (printers, scanners, etc.) you’d either have to use the Google Cloud Print mechanism above or a third-party plugin provided by the hardware vendor. This software would typically have its own unique procedure for linking up with your Android system.

Beginning with devices running Android 8.0 Oreo or above, there’s a simpler option in the form of a standardized platform developed by a nonprofit organization called the Mopria Alliance. If you’re connected to the same Wi-Fi network as a Mopria-certified printer, the Print command in any app that offers this option will allow you to use the Mopria platform to handle your documents.

Significantly, Mopria boasts that it offers support for 97% of today’s printer and scanner manufacturers, so it’s pretty likely that your particular office hardware will be compatible with this method.

Mopria distributes a free Mopria Print Service app (from the Play Store and its own website), which extends enterprise-level printing functions to your device, such as authentication, folding, stapling, or accounting-related input.

That’s because it adds “Mopria Print” as an option to the standard Android Share command. For example, you could select a block of text from a web page or email, share it via Mopria Print, and thus print the text from your office printer.

As with the Print Service, once you install the app and give it the go-ahead, it will display your nearest available scanner or multifunction printer which is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the app. There’s a button to manually add a scanner by entering its name and IP address (usually located somewhere on the front screen menu), if your hardware doesn’t immediately appear on the list.

Finally, you can take a direct approach to scanning by using your Android device’s on-board camera. The Google Play Store offers a variety of mobile apps to assist, including the free Microsoft Office Lens.

All you have to do is open the app, confirm what kind of content (business card, text document, etc.) you want to capture, then hit the shutter button. Office Lens will automatically straighten and neatly crop the scan and offers options for editing or annotating your image as required.

If you save an image directly as a Microsoft Word file, optical character recognition (OCR) will extract any editable text.

The app then crops and stitches together the best set of images, to give an end result that should be crisp and free from glare.

You can use the HP Smart app to enable or disable Print Anywhere or the Private Pickup feature. Open the HP Smart app, and then click the Account icon or the icon with your initials.

Sign in to your account if prompted, and then click Manage HP Account.

Enable or disable Print Anywhere or the Private Pickup feature. Allow printing from anywhere: Turn Print Anywhere on or off.

Require Private Pickup: Enable or disable Private Pickup. This feature allows the print job to be held until released by an authorized person at the printer.

Open the HP Smart app, and then click the Account icon or the icon with your initials.

Under your Account Dashboard, click Solutions, and then click Print Anywhere to open the settings.

Private Pickup is required to share remote printing with other authorized users. Return to the Account Dashboard, and then click Users to open the printer sharing settings.

Click Invite, enter the user’s email address, and then click the add icon.

If the invitation expires before a person can accept, delete the email address from the list, and then send a new invitation. A remote print job might not send for various reasons, such as poor network connectivity, printer errors, or file type issues.

Common tips and tricks to help resolve the issue: Connectivity issues: Use a local Wi-Fi connection.

Limited printer settings and capabilities: HP Smart app features are limited when connected remotely, such as remote scanning from the printer and accessing advanced settings.

File type issues: Make sure the uploaded file type is supported, not too large, and not password protected. macOS, Windows: JPG/JPEG, PNG, BMP, PDF, PPT/PPTX, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX.

iOS: JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, PPT, XLS. Remote printing might not be an available in the chosen application: Some but not all applications support remote printing with Print Anywhere.

If the application you are trying to print from still lists the printer as offline or unavailable, remote printing is not available from that application.

Use the HP Smart app or another device.

Restart the printer and device to clear any possible errors. Open the HP Smart app, and then wait at least 45 seconds from the app to find the printer.

You are done.

Restore Wi-Fi setup mode. Printers with a touchscreen control panel: On the control panel, open the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network Setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings.

Printers without a touchscreen control panel: Use the control panel buttons to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer.

Select your printer from the list, and then follow the prompts to reconnect it to the network. The following standard, non-HP+ printers are eligible for HP Smart Advance enrollment:
