Where to pick up the Hunter x Hunter manga after the 2011 anime? [1]

Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter is easily one of the most popular shounen manga to be known for its extended hiatuses. The manga series was on a long break after chapter 390, which was published in November 2018.

Now, after nearly four years, Yoshihiro Togashi has finally decided to come back from hiatus as the next chapter of Hunter x Hunter chapter 391 is set to feature in the 47th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on October 23, 2022. With this announcement, Hunter x Hunter fans have gotten hyped as they look forward to the continuation of the story.

After finishing the 2011 anime, Hunter x Hunter fans can start reading the manga from chapter 339 titled Stilness. Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter has two anime adaptations, one from Nippon Animation in 1999 and another from Madhouse in 2011.

The 1999 version of the Hunter x Hunter anime only has 62 episodes, which covers till chapter 184 of the manga. However, the 2011 version of the anime has 148 episodes, covering the manga till the end of the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, which extends till chapter 339 of the manga.

Once fans are done with the 2011 version of Hunter x Hunter, they can start reading the manga from chapter 339, which acts as the beginning of the Dark Continent Expedition arc. After the death of Chairman Netero in his battle against Chimera Ant King Meruem in the Chimera Ant arc, the Hunter Association decided to conduct an election to choose a new Chairman.

They had gathered to act as the council to conduct the elections, and to everyone’s surprise, Ging Freecss, Gon’s father, was also a Zodiac member. That’s when Leorio returns to the series.

In the meantime, Killua and his servants worked together to use his sister Alluka’s ability to help Gon recover from his injuries. After Gon finally recovered, he met Ging and talked with him at the top of the World Tree.

This is where the anime ended in episode 148, as fans can read the manga from chapter 339 to go further into the series. Quick Links.

The Hunter x Hunter manga has a long way to go before it reaches its dramatic conclusion [2]

Hunter x Hunter is one of the most significant sensations in the manga and anime industry, aside from the Big Three. Since Hunter x Hunter’s debut in Shueisha’s weekly shonen manga magazine in March 1998, it has gained a sizable following and is frequently a must-read recommended by the otaku community.

The manga has 400 chapters in total and is still being published, though it is currently on hiatus. This is primarily due to the frequent illness of the creator, Yoshihiro Togashi.

Given how things stand, many are curious about how far the manga is from its climactic conclusion. Fans will be relieved to know that the end is far from near.

So, to set the record straight, the Hunter x Hunter manga is still ongoing, and it will take some time before the series comes to a dramatic conclusion.

The current arc might require another 30 chapters to wrap up, as a manga staff member, Tanehana, revealed in December 2022. As per the staff member, the next 30 chapters of the manga have all been written, and only the illustrations are yet to be completed.

Following the current arc, Succession Contest, the next arc will primarily focus on the Dark Continent, and fans will be able to enjoy and watch Ging, Pariston, Beyond, and all of their adventures in this arc. Not only that, but fans can anticipate some major revelations from this story arc, such as why humans left the Dark Continent if their origins are thought to have been on that very place.

The number of chapters in the arc might range between 40 and 80, or even go up till 90. But this is not the only story arc to come next.

According to another user, the story arc that will centre on the Dark Continent will likely include 200 chapter arcs, just to explore each of the five threats that are currently known, and there may be additional threats in the Dark Continent. Aside from this, there is no word on when the manga’s final arc will be released or how many chapters the Dark Continent will feature.

Nonetheless, as the Hunter x Hunter manga will enter the Dark Continent, it is widely assumed that the series will reach its conclusion soon after, given the mangaka’s health-related issues. However, if the mangaka is able to devote more time to the project, there are likely to be more arcs following the Dark Continent, rather than the Dark Continent being the only arc preceding the finale arc.

As a result, fans should continue to enjoy Hunter x Hunter’s previous chapters until then. Stay tuned for more Hunter x Hunter and other anime and manga updates as 2023 progresses.

Second x chance [3]

Togashi drew much of the final arc of “Yuyu Hakusho” all by himself, sometimes at the last minute and skirting major deadlines. The results were noticeably rougher and less professional than the standard set during the comic’s early days of success.

Togashi was perversely satisfied. If the final stretch of the series was a failure, it would at least be his failure alone.

I ended YYH because of my own selfishness.”. With “Yuyu Hakusho” in the back of one’s mind, the structure of “Hunter x Hunter” begins to make sense.

Characters like Gon and Killua surprise the reader in ways that the heroes of “Yuyu Hakusho” were never allowed to do. The Nen system allows for a wide variety of challenges that the relatively constrained world of “Yu Yu Hakusho” could not support.

How to watch Crunchyroll from outside your location in 2023 [4]

Hunter X Hunter manga has been on several hiatuses occasionally because of the authors’ health conditions. In a recent interview, Togashi broke his silence, and honestly, the latest announcement didn’t come as good news for the fandom.

Hunter X Hunter is a popular manga series that has been running since 1998, but its release schedule has not been consistent since 2006. That’s because Yoshihiro Togashi’s health started deteriorating.

The renowned series has entertained us for a long time and continues to do the same. However, seeing his health condition getting worse, Togashi came up with a few ending ideas that he revealed in his latest interview.

Even though the official interview will be released on November 21, 2023, the leaks have already emerged on social media, and here’s everything you should know about it.

The author stated that the first ending will be liked by 50% of the fandom and disliked by 20%. According to him, this is not the most satisfactory rating, but he will be relieved if his work reaches up to this level.

Interestingly, this is not it, as there is a twist in the story.

pic.twitter.com/HuBbyEGFWk. Togashi wants a chance where he does not have to choose any of the aforementioned scenarios, so he has also worked on an additional ending, D, that he has already discarded.

Well, Togashi didn’t talk about the A, B, and C concepts in detail, but surprisingly, he revealed the plot of the discarded one. Since the author won’t use the D ending, there’s no risk of spoiling the story for the fandom by revealing it.

A girl is standing near a lake, and she is looking to hunt the Lake Lord. She is none other than the granddaughter of our beloved Gon.

Her mom turns to her father, saying that Jin currently wants to be there with them and never leave the island, but she is sure that her mindset will be changed one day. The ending will also see Gon as a strong hunter, and we will also be able to meet some of the new faces.

Hunter X Hunter’s Final Ending Explained [5]

The Hunter x Hunter series has been crowned one of the greatest manga and anime despite never reaching its conclusion. The anime wrapped things up for the time being, adapting a good chunk of the material.

As a result, due to the issues concerning his health, Togashi has revealed the different sets of endings for HxH in a variety show. Curious to know how it ends.

We all very well know about the saddening health issues of the mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi. He has talked about how it greatly affects his workflow in many of his interviews.

The longest hiatus period we witnessed was from 2018-2022, a four-year-long waiting period. As his health is very concerning, it seems Togashi has decided to give away a major piece of information about the ending of Hunter x Hunter.

pic.twitter.com/HuBbyEGFWk— Shonen Jump News (@WSJ_manga) November 20, 2023. Yoshihiro Togashi will be revealing a ‘Dropped Ending’ for HUNTERxHUNTER on TV Asahi’s Iwakura and Yoshizumi Show on November 21st, 2023.Togashi states that “if he passed away before finishing the series, that’d be its ending” and apologizes in advance.

More importantly, it is not a single ending. Togashi has revealed key details on multiple endings he has in his mind for the Hunter x Hunter series via a letter in TV Asahi’s “Iwakura and Yoshizumi Program,” a variety show.

Along with answering different questions about his work, he mentioned the different endings as A, B, and C, respectively. These three endings are the currently planned ones, which will have different satisfaction numbers among fans according to him.

The key takeaway in this revelation is that he has now confirmed in his own words that “In case fate took him before the manga’s completion,” he has asked readers to take Ending D, that is the fourth ending, as the epic denouement to this magnum opus HxH series. As a result, he has unveiled every detail about the fourth ending of HxH manga which you can read below.

So as you are aware now, there are four endings planned for the HxH manga.

They are as follows:. At this moment, these are the three endings that align with Togashi’s objective and desire.

Thus, he asserted that he would pen down the ending that he found the most entertaining at the end of the day.

This ending has been tossed out of his drafts for the conclusion, but as mentioned earlier, this will be considered the ending in case the author is unable to finish the HxH manga. That said, without any further ado, let’s begin breaking down on this ultimate ending.

He has now become a grandfather. And surely this poses many questions about who did he end up with.

Togashi answered that as well.

Gon mentioned her to Killua as his friend once. It’s implied that she was the only child besides Gon on the island, so when Gon retires, it is mentioned that he will end up marrying Noko and start a family together in their hometown.

Since Gon is a grandfather now, we even got to hear about his granddaughter in the latest ending explainer. The descendants of the Freecs family were mentioned briefly throughout.

Down the road, his son tied the knot with an unknown woman, and Jin Freecs was born. Jin is the granddaughter of Gon Freecs.

If that name sounds so familiar to you, it is no miracle. As we are aware, the name of Gon’s father was Ging Freecs.

So, Gon’s son seems to have named his daughter in remembrance of his grandfather Jin. Ultimately, Jin shares so many resemblances to her grandfather, which we have discussed in the below section.

By now you must have understood everything about the Freecs family and their lineage. So, it’s now time to learn about the true meaning behind the final moments of HxH.

This is the same fish we see Gon catching when we first meet him in the story. Just like her grandfather, she also successfully captures the fish and brings it to a woman who is none other than Jin’s mom.

Jin’s mom tells Jin’s dad that the true dream of Jin is to settle on this island, inherit their place, and never leave it at any cost. Jin’s dad laughs heavily upon hearing this and agrees to her daughter’s wishes.

Surely it’s because of the blood of Grandma Mito and Grandma Noko.”. She further emphasizes “But grandpa Gon was a famous hunter… and this girl will one day leave the island.“ As you can see the tables have turned on Whale Island.

In the future, Jin’s mother wants her daughter to become a Hunter, however, Jin like her father doesn’t want to tread on that path. This is a nice parallel and juxtaposition to see how things began and ended now.

While Jin left the discussion, she overhears the conversation between her parents from such a long distance. To which, Jin’s dad replies “You have a sharp eye.” This is just like how her grandfather was back in his days and these parallels couldn’t get more obvious.

The scene changes to a different place where the fish is cut and ready to cook. During this time, we can finally understand how things are now from the eyes of Jin.

In her words: “Mom never understands. When Grandpa speaks joyfully about his memories of being a hunter, Grandma Noko quietly moves away from her seat.

She strikes the cutting board forcefully with a knife (I’m tired of this.

This monologue perfectly describes what it’s like to be a Hunter. Once Gon became a Hunter like his dad, he had to sacrifice the part of being there for their loved ones.

However, these lines provide the perspective of the people waiting on the other side. How they have to wait a long time to see their kin.

Gon had a purpose to become a hunter, i.e. to find his dad and meet him.

Unlike Gon, Jin doesn’t have any but if she finds one soon, she may become a hunter or just live a normal life on Whale Island. But Jin’s words about being with family tell us a lot about what she yearns for.

together, always. ”.

They also agreed with what Jin said about her goals. As they begin to cook, a bird flies over their island and now over a town and its residents.

In his words: “The son of one of them, the daughter of another, and the grandchild of another live in different places, exchanging smiles. They might be the children of that character and the grandchildren of that character.

In the background, a figure watches the scene”.

It is wholesome to see them smiling towards the end. And the figure who watches the scene from the background must be none other than Gon himself.

Where Will Hunter x Hunter: Season 7 Be Aired? [6]

If we were to name an anime that defined the shōnen genre, Hunter x Hunter would be a name that’ll undoubtedly pop up. Yoshihiro Togashi’s radical storytelling and masterfully crafted action moments made the anime an unforgettable journey, one we thought that’ll never end.

But the wait might finally be over as Yoshihiro made a Twitter account in May 2022, and the first tweet he posted was presumably a tease at panels for Hunter x Hunter: Season 7. The text accompanying the tweet translated to “4 more episodes for now,” so that’s pretty much an indirect confirmation.

One of Yoshihiro’s tweets mentioned that there were 7 more episodes left to make. So after doing a bit of detective work, we’re speculating that you could finally see Hunter x Hunter: Season 7 air sometime in 2024.

Yoshihiro’s health isn’t always on the best terms as well, and that’s the main reason why the manga stops publication for years before returning. So, for now, it’s best to be happy knowing that something is definitely in the works.

Hunter x Hunter: Season 6 ended on Chapter 339 of the manga, which concluded the events of the Election Arc. That means next up is the Dark Continent Expedition arc.

Kurapika on the other hand goes after a Kakin Prince to retrieve his clan’s Scarlet Eyes rumored to be in the Prince’s possession.

The anime went down in history as one of the greatest ever made, especially for its amazing sound design and stunning visuals, so due to that, we’re sure Madhouse will make Hunter x Hunter: Season 7 as well. Though the anime’s story was sometimes all over the place, Madhouse did end up doing a terrific job and, hopefully, the sequel follows the same route.

Being an insanely popular anime, it’s no surprise that the entire Hunter x Hunter anime series is available to stream on almost every service. Anticipation for Hunter x Hunter: Season 7 is the same too, so we’re sure that the biggest platforms, like Crunchyroll and Funimation, will have it on day one.

Production[edit] [8]

Hunter × Hunter (stylized as HUNTER×HUNTER and pronounced “hunter hunter”) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 1998, although the manga has frequently gone on extended hiatuses since 2006.

The story focuses on a young boy named Gon Freecss who discovers that his father, who left him at a young age, is actually a world-renowned Hunter, a licensed professional who specializes in fantastical pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals.

Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and encounters the paranormal.

Three separate original video animations (OVAs) totaling 30 episodes were subsequently produced by Nippon Animation and released in Japan from 2002 to 2004. A second anime television series by Madhouse aired on Nippon Television from October 2011 to September 2014, totaling 148 episodes, with two animated theatrical films released in 2013.

The manga has been licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media since April 2005. Both television series have been also licensed by Viz Media, with the first series having aired on the Funimation Channel in 2009 and the second series broadcast on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block from April 2016 to June 2019.

Hunter × Hunter has been a huge critical and financial success and has become one of the best-selling manga series of all time, having over 84 million copies in circulation by July 2022.

To obtain a license one must pass the rigorous annual Hunter Examination run by the Hunter Association, which has a success rate of less than one in a hundred-thousand. A Hunter may be awarded up to three stars: a single star for making “remarkable achievements in a particular field”.

and finally upgraded to three stars for “remarkable achievements in multiple fields”.

There are four basic Nen techniques: Ten (纏) maintains the aura in the body, strengthening it for defense. Zetsu (絕) shuts the aura flow off, useful for concealing one’s presence and relieving fatigue.

and Hatsu (發) is a person’s specific use of Nen. Nen users are classified into six types based on their Hatsu abilities.

Emitters (放出系, Hōshutsukei) project aura out of their bodies. Manipulators (操作系, Sōsakei) control objects or living things.

Conjurers (具現化系, Gugenkakei) create objects out of their aura. and Specialists (特質系, Tokushitsukei) have unique abilities that do not fall into the previous categories.

An example of this is Kurapika who, in order to have an unbreakable chain that will fully restrain members of the Phantom Troupe, offered his life, should he use it on anyone other than its members.

But when he learns from Kite, an apprentice of his father Ging Freecss, that he is still alive and has since become an accomplished Hunter, Gon leaves his home on Whale Island (くじら島, Kujira Tō) to take the Hunter Examination (ハンター試験, Hantā Shiken) in order to become a Hunter like him.

and Killua Zoldyck, another twelve-year-old boy who has left his former life as a member of the world’s most notorious assassin family. Among many other examinees, Gon continuously encounters Hisoka, a mysterious and deadly transmuter who takes an interest in him.

After Gon and the others convince Killua to rejoin their side, Leorio and Kurapika depart temporarily for their own personal reasons, while Gon and Killua set for the Heavens Arena (天空闘技場, Tenkū Tōgijō), a skyscraper where thousands of martial artists compete daily in fighting tournaments, seeking to improve themselves and gain monetary rewards.

Sometime later, Gon and his friends reunite again in Yorknew City (ヨークシンシティ, Yōkushin Shiti) where they have a clash with the Phantom Troupe. During the occasion, two from the band of thieves are killed by Kurapika and he is forced to give up the chance of hunting down the rest in order to rescue Gon and Killua from being captured, but not without succeeding in sealing the powers of their leader, Chrollo Lucilfer.

A few days later, Gon and Killua achieve their objective and begin playing Greed Island, an extremely rare and expensive video game with Nen-like properties following some clues about Ging’s whereabouts. While exploring the game, it is revealed that its scenario is actually set somewhere in the real world, created with Nen by a team led by none other than Ging himself.

With Biscuit’s help, Gon and Killua train their Nen and learn to shape their abilities to their traits. Killua takes a short break from Greed Island to apply for the Hunter Examination again, this time passes with success.

Gon decides to have Killua accompany him to meet his father using the artifacts, but the duo are sent to meet Kite instead. They decide to help with Kite’s research of a man-sized Chimera Ant queen, an insect that devours other creatures and then gives birth to progeny that inherit the characteristics of the different species it has eaten.

Upon facing the Royal Guard of the Chimera Ants, Kite sacrifices himself to allow Gon and Killua to flee and alert the Hunter Association.

Meanwhile, Gon has a showdown with Neferpitou, the Ant who killed Kite. After overusing Nen to exact his revenge, he is hospitalized and in critical condition.

His family is unwilling to risk losing Alluka or having her dangerous powers used against them, but after evading his older brother Illumi’s attempts to intercept him, Killua manages to bring Alluka to Gon’s side and have him fully restored.

Some time later, Netero’s son Beyond assembles an expedition to the Dark Continent (暗黒大陸, Ankoku Tairiku), the forbidden, vast area outside of the known world. he is sponsored by the Kingdom of Kakin.

Hunter x Hunter’s Finale In Detail [9]

The creator of Hunter x Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi, hasn’t been shy when it comes to discussing his health issues. While the mangaka was able to return to the series to continue the Succession Contest Arc, Togashi needed to take a hiatus from a weekly release schedule.

In a recent interview, the creator of the popular shonen franchise revealed that he had created four different endings for Hunter x Hunter. The ending he revealed as but one of four, as “Endings A, B, and C” did not live up to Togashi’s “high satisfaction standards”.

Painting a scene that is quite similar to Gon’s introduction in Hunter x Hunter’s first chapter, though Jin is adamant about never leaving the island or becoming a hunter, which is quite different from her grandfather’s journey.

Anime fans aren’t given an idea of what happened to the likes of Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio, along with the members of the villainous Phantom Troupe. Hopefully, Hunter x Hunter fans will one day see an official ending hit the pages of the manga.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out the ending, it reads as such, “Next to the lake, a girl named Jin, holding a fishing rod, stands motionless. Suddenly, the rod shakes violently, and Jin, startled, exclaims, “I got him.

” She skillfully lifts the Lake Lord onto her shoulders and stands before a woman, saying, “As I promised, I caught the Lake Lord. Mom.

You must become a hunter.” The woman, with no tricks left, nods her head. Jin, still carrying the Lake Lord on her shoulder, walks away.

The father agrees, laughing, and the mother expresses her dissatisfaction, saying, “Perhaps her desires will change later. But I want to know, you and Jin, why are you like this.

The woman, expressing her unwillingness as a mother, adds, “But Grandpa Gon was a famous hunter.. and this girl will one day leave the island.” Jin insists, “I will never leave.

The father, amused, says, “You have a sharp eye.” The scene changes to the shop continuing its work from Mito’s days. The Lake Lord has been cleanly cut, and its internal parts sorted.

When Grandpa speaks joyfully about his memories of being a hunter, Grandma Noko quietly moves away from her seat. Every time Grandpa Gon affirms, her belief is heard from someone.

) To wait for someone’s return after months and years of sadness crushes my heart.. I make someone wait for me.

Then the door opens, and a warm voice echoes. A chubby little child enters, holding a plant.

Well, let’s honor the whole island with it. ” Jin replies, “I always..

Together, always. ” The child agrees, “Yes.

A bird flies away from the island, over a town and its people. The son of one of them, the daughter of another, and the grandchild of another live in different places, exchanging smiles.

The bird flies away into the distance. In the background, a figure watches the scene.

9 Killua Had A More Diverse Wardrobe In The Anime Adaptation [10]

Within the biggest and greatest Shonen series out there, there are few more influential than Hunter X Hunter. This action-packed series has been around since 1998 and has impacted some of the most popular anime in recent years.

Naruto has referenced and borrowed pretty heavily from this series as a whole. It was created by Yoshiro Togashi, who was also behind Yu Yu Hakusho, and it shows.

However, there are inconsistencies between the manga and two anime adaptations with some elements added and others being left out. Updated on October 4th, 2021 by Claris Lam: Though nothing new was added since most of the key points where covered in the original list, the actual content of the article was updated to more accurately reflect the differences between the manga and anime adaptations of Hunter X Hunter.

Sometime around the end of the Greed Island Arc, Mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi dropped the ball artistically. Many readers noticed that a series of chapters from the end of the Greed Island Arc to the beginning of the Chimera Ant Arc included poor quality artwork.

Luckily, the anime never had to deal with this sort of issue. Another difference from the manga is the variety of outfits Killua wears.

Killua’s outfits changed from arc to arc in both the 1999 and the 2011 adaptations, and each time it was different. It’s apparent that Togashi loved Killua as a character and has fun drawing him in different outfits.

This added to the show as a whole, and also to Killua’s character development. One of the first characters ever seen in both the manga and the 1999 adaptation is Kite, one of Ging’s apprentices and a recurring character.

RELATED: 10 Strongest Characters Hunter x Hunter Characters. However, the 2011 anime did not include Kite in the first episode or his background at all.

The biggest, most glaring change from the Hunter X Hunter manga is that the anime adaptations already ended. It had a solid conclusion.

With the manga, Togashi has stated multiple times that he still wants to end the HxH manga, but the manga series has been off and on hiatus for years now. This made Hunter X Hunter a rare circumstance where anime-only fans arguably received a more “complete” story by not reading the manga and solely focusing on the anime.

However, this “filler” content was very helpful in developing the main cast. The additional scenes showed Leorio’s guilt at his mistake in the final part of the Hunter exam, adding to his character as a whole.

RELATED: 10 Hilarious Sailor Moon Memes Only True Scouts Will Understand. This was a bit hard to believe in the manga and the older anime adaptation, given their depiction of being more like rivals (albeit friendly ones).

The 2011 anime is usually what people recommend new HxH fans to watch, as it’s much crisper, was made more recently, and follows the manga better than the 1999 adaptation. But, the biggest “problem” with this anime adaption for some viewers is that it was much less grim and gory than the older anime or the manga.

There are multiple scenes where it should’ve been more dark or violent, but the anime dialed it back a bit. Both animes did a better job of cleaning up the overall holes in the manga including improving the artwork in the backgrounds, as that is something Togashi struggled with the most within his artwork.

It was very easy to disregard these awkward instances in the manga since the reader went from page to page quickly, but anime is different considering their short timeframe for every episode. Both adaptations put in the extra work to make all the jokes and solemn moments land with the impact they need.

He’s the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho after all, so he had a unique art style. However, the art does fluctuate quite a bit in terms of style throughout the manga.

Oftentimes new characters look like they belong in a completely different story, or they just straight-up look worse than everyone else in the room. The 2011 anime especially, fixes that gap in quality by making minor changes to the colors, style, and overall details of characters and locations to make it all look integrated into the same setting without anything looking too out of place.

The manga can be read a lot quicker, but the art changes constantly and the backgrounds are never consistent. That said, the more detailed panels are absolutely beautiful and the violent moments are horrifyingly brutal.

It has that 90’s aesthetic people love and is almost as dark as the manga at times. The 2011 anime is a lot more modern, cleaned up, and streamlined.

Gyro was another important character in Hunter X Hunter. Gyro is the leader of the NGL, the area where the entire Chimera Ant event takes place.

After the events of The Chimera Ant arc, Gyro is reborn as a whole new species. In the manga, it was hinted that Gyro will play a part in the last or later events with Gon.

What This Means For The Series [11]

Yoshihiro Togashi is one of the most well-known manga authors of all time. He has created two of the best manga series of all time, namely, Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter.

. Hunter x Hunter started serializing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998.

Hunter x Hunter has sold over 80 million volumes, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. It is a high number, considering the manga has gone on multiple breaks in the last ten years.

The first adaptation was released in October 1999. It ran until 2001 and accumulated 62 episodes.

During this run, the anime released 148 episodes, with the final episode coming out in 2014. Both anime adaptations received a great deal of critical reception and are considered to be one of the best anime series of all time.

It is not a secret that Togashi has been struggling with health issues, due to which he is unable to focus on work. In a recent announcement, he confirmed one of the many endings that he has planned for Hunter x Hunter.

Togashi’s decision to reveal the ending of Hunter x Hunter is for a good reason. According to the author, there are four separate endings planned for Hunter x Hunter.

Out of the four, he only revealed the fourth ending because it ranked the lowest. In this particular ending, Togashi revealed that a girl named Jin was in focus.

Not long afterward, she feels a tug. Jin begins to pull, and out comes the Lake Lord.

Jin tells her mother to stop asking her to become a Hunter. Her mother has no other option but to nod in agreement.

She tells him that Jin’s dream is to stay on the island forever and inherit the place. Jin’s father begins to laugh, much to the annoyance of his wife.

Jin’s mother is unaware that Mito and Noko are not related by blood, but her husband doesn’t correct her. She talks about how Grandfather Gon was a Hunter and hopes that Jin will leave the island one day.

The next sequence is set in Mito’s shop, where Jin has neatly disassembled the Lake Lord. She begins to wonder why her mother is so insistent.

Jin understands Noko’s pain and how difficult it is for someone to wait for months and months for the return of a dear one. While Jin is lost in her thoughts, a kid enters the shop with a plant.

Subsequently, they begin to cook the animal to share it with the rest of the village. But before that, Jin reveals that she is going to stay with the person that she wants to be.

Then the focus changes to three different characters, who seem to be the new heroes. A mysterious character watches all of this unfold in the background.

Or there is a chance that it could be a brand new enemy who is monitoring the young ones. With the reveal of one of the endings, some fans may feel let down because it might ruin their experience.

If his health improves, then he can simply bring an end to the series at the appropriate time. A few years ago, manga enthusiasts suffered the loss of Kentarou Miura, the author of Berserk.

So, Hunter x Hunter fans should be more understanding and give all their support to Togashi.

Togashi Shares A Discarded Hunter x Hunter Finale With Fans [12]

Screen Rant was unable to verify the source of this news. Until Togashi’s interview with TV Asahi actually airs, this should be considered as speculation.

Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of Hunter X Hunter, has revealed one possible finale for his series, one that fans should consider canon in case of Togashi’s untimely demise. The author has been struggling with his health for some time now, resulting in several hiatuses for the manga series.

It appears that Togashi is taking a gradual approach to his return, easing himself back into the demands of the series. In an upcoming online interview with TV Asahi’s Iwakura and Yoshizumi Show that will air on November 21st but has already been leaked online, Togashi revealed that he has already thought of three possible endings for the series.

The interview has been translated by X user Pewpiece. Togashi added that, in case he should pass away before concluding the series, fans should consider this discarded scenario as the actual ending of Hunter x Hunter.

Option B will be evenly split between satisfied and dissatisfied readers. However, the third option would have only a 10 percent satisfaction rate and a 90 percent dissatisfaction rate.

He wishes to find an ending that he truly loves, and that fans will be satisfied with, instead of considering any of these three options. The translation is not completely accurate, and this article will be updated when precise translations are available.

This ending focuses on Jin, Gon’s granddaughter, as she is fishing for the “Lake Lord”, the same fish that Gon caught at the start of his adventure. Contrary to Gon, however, Jin captures the giant fish to get her mother to stop pressuring her to become a Hunter.

The ending also reveals that Gon has become a famous and strong hunter and that he is married to Noko, one of the few children who grew up with him. The series ends with a bird flying over different places, showing many new characters who could be the children or grandchildren of the protagonists of Hunter x Hunter.

Togashi said clearly that this is simply an ending he discarded, so there is no risk of spoilers in sharing it with his fans. The reason why he specified this should be considered canon in case of his passing is, probably, because he still has not decided which of the other three valid possible endings he will use.

Hopefully, Hunter x Hunter fans will be able to read the finale of this generational saga crafted by the hands of its creator. Hunter x Hunter is available from Viz Media and Manga Plus.

Is There a Release Date for Hunter x Hunter Season 7? [13]

Hunter x Hunter has seen a fantastic run from 2011 to 2014, totalling 148 episodes by the end of the sixth season. The last episode concluded with all the prominent cast members splitting up and going their separate ways.

Many fans have watched the show countless times, and the same question keeps popping up: will there be a season 7 of Hunter x Hunter.

This, unfortunately, is a difficult question to answer as there are a lot of factors to consider where another arc/season is concerned. But fans are curious (and understandably desperate), so read ahead to find out everything we know about a new season of Hunter x Hunter so far.

16 March 1998 marks the day that Hunter x Hunter was serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, and June 4th of the same year is when the first volume was released. Written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashin, the manga was a great success and saw an anime adaptation the following year.

But due to Togashi going on hiatus, the 1999 series could not be finished.

This became the most popular version of the anime, and now fans are hungry for more. Here is everything regarding Hunter x Hunter season 7:.

And while you may be thinking this is a bad thing, the show was also not cancelled. This could only mean that the studio, alongside Togisha, has plans for the show in future.

Considering that there has not been much word from the studios and creators alike, there is and likely won’t be a release date for season 7 of Hunter x Hunter anytime soon. Togisha’s last update, which was posted in May 2022 via a Tweet, can further confirm this.

First, the studio could already be working on episodes as the mangaka puts out the chapters. Or second, the Tweet serves as confirmation that fans will be receiving a seventh season of the popular show.

If there are episodes in production, then fans might be seeing the next arc sooner than anticipated. Because at the rate things are going, many fans of the series have given up on the prospect of seeing their favourite characters return on-screen.

Togashi, despite his illnesses, seems dedicated to finishing the series no matter what. This means there will be another season at some point, regardless of the date.

In that case, fans might be looking at 12 to 24 additional episodes. This is only speculation, however, as the season lengths have varied considerably throughout the show’s runtime.

And in comparison, season 5 lasted a whopping 61 episodes. This makes it nearly impossible to tell just how many episodes the studio will be animating.

Without including too many spoilers for fans who have yet to read the manga, the next season will likely see the Dark Continent Expedition arc finally being explored. The manga sees Netero’s son form an expedition crew wherein the group will head to the Dark Continent, where few hunters return.

However, the most crucial part of the next season is that Gon and Killua will be featured less, possibly seeing no screen time at all.

It seems, unfortunately, that season 7 of Hunter x Hunter will not be that day. However, if the studio breaks away from the manga, fans might see the duo reunite again.

Kurapika will find himself as an Overseer for the next official Hunter Examinations. This could make for an exciting turn of events and perhaps the reappearance of the Phantom Troupe.

This is an excellent question considering the multiple hiatus the manga has seen since it was first released. Unfortunately for the beloved mangaka, he has suffered immense mental and physical health issues due to the pressure placed on him for more chapters in the series.

Togashi even went as far as to ask his wife, the creator of Sailormoon, the finish the manga if he couldn’t or if he passed away before doing so by himself.

Furthermore, he shared a post two years prior (before the most recent update) wherein he confirmed that ten more chapters would be ready soon. This means that the mangaka planned well up to 400 chapters, which is a good thing if they are to be animated.

R Martin is how fans have begun to feel about Yoshihiro Togashi, doubting that the series will see an end. Hopefully, Togashi can achieve his dream by completing the manga.

It would be highly disappointing to them if the two characters were not even featured in season 7 of Hunter x Hunter at all. Similarly, the English voice actors Erica Mendez and Michael McConnohie would return for their roles.

As it stands, the current seasons of Hunter x Hunter can be streamed on Crunchyroll. It would make the most sense for the new season to be available there when it does eventually release.

Togashi’s health issues have significantly impacted his ability to put out more manga volumes. And because of this, the likelihood of a new season seems relatively low.
