Wedding ceremony begins with buckets of tears [3]

The wedding event of the decade is upon us as Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner marries the second love of his life, Theresa Nist. When Turner began his “Golden Bachelor” journey, the 72-year-old Indiana widower won over hearts by saying he wasn’t looking for a woman he could live with, but a woman he couldn’t live without.

Turner and Nist said “I do” during a live televised event on Thursday on ABC. “The Golden Bachelor” fan favorite Susan Noles officiated, Kathy Swarts of “Zip it.

Follow along with USA TODAY as we watch the Golden Wedding, tissues at the ready.

“I almost forgot the really important advice,” he told the crowd. “Don’t stop believing.”.

Moments later during the same song, Turner ran into runner-up Leslie Fhima on the dance floor and the two hugged it out. Fhima didn’t miss out on the dancing but she did miss out on the bouquet toss, which got physical.

She stole the show leading up to the ceremony as a gold carpet host, telling self-deprecating and witty jokes throughout the night on a national stage. “Kathy really should be trending tonight because she’s been hilariously funny throughout this wedding,” wrote one viewer on X.

Well our hearts are bursting. Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are now married, just a few short months after they first met on “The Golden Bachelor” and shared their painful past and loss of their previous spouses with the world.

More than anything, Nist said she wants “to have fun for the rest of the days we have left on this Earth.”. Laughing about their ages, she added: “Which could be another hour.”.

Turner then told her that he knows “the hand of God and the winds of fate have ordained this moment.”. “From the first sip of chocolate shake to the last sip of Costa Rican coffee, I learned that you are the woman I can’t live without,” he continued.

(Turner had told her she was his girl and that he loved her in Costa Rica, as well, so that checks out). After exchanging their vows, they put rings on each other’s fingers and Noles told them that they may now “take on the world together with all your hopes and dreams,” and pronounced them man and wife.

“Let’s hear it for Mr. and Mrs.

” Noles declared. Gerry Turner was crying before he even saw bride Theresa Nist walking toward him down the aisle.

Bottom lip quivering and tears spilling, Turner was clearly overwhelmed by the moment, as was officiant and “Golden Bachelor” fan favorite Susan Noles, who struggled to deliver her introduction through tears. “You weren’t kidding the way she looks at you,” she told Turner as Nist joined him at the altar after her son gave her away.

OK, let’s do this.”. The ceremony continued with tearful speeches from the couple’s respective daughters, as the couple themselves could barely keep it together.

The ladies doubled down on that message with a sexy photo shoot and bachelorette party. Nist arranged for photo shoots for some of her friends from the show, including Susan Noles, Faith Martin, Ellen Goltzer and Sandra Mason.

“I have many X-rated thoughts about Denzel (Washington),” Mason said, adding a number of bleeped-out words about how she would like to spend time with him. Goltzer, who became known for her impressive pickleball skills, said that “this whole thing is out of my comfort zone..

Later, dancers from Chippendales showed up, with Noles saying she felt like she had to spice things up. She observed Mason “playing the bongos on a six-pack.”.

These ladies make aging look like way more fun than we realized. If you weren’t laughing and crying throughout Theresa Nist’s dress-shopping experience, are you even human.

Gerry Turner’s and Nist’s respective daughters were there, as were co-stars and fan favorites Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles. After Nist appears in one potential dress, she tells Swarts: “Kathy, I need a favor from you.

Soon after the joke, Swarts said, “Today it was my joy to zip it for Theresa.”. Meanwhile Nist said it was “like a fairytale” trying on dresses from Badgley Mischka.

Nist’s daughter, Jen Woolston, got emotional watching her mom trying on dresses, recalling when her mom helped her pick hers out. “You look beautiful,” she cried as she hugged her mother tight.

I can’t wait.”. Some of most stately queens from “The Golden Bachelor” have arrived, and they’re dressed to kill.

Though “Bachelor” host Jesse Palmer told her he couldn’t wait to see her out on the dance floor, she said she was excited about sitting down. “The seats are comfortable, they’re cushy,” she said of the ceremony seating.

She wore green earrings shaped like chairs. Meanwhile Edith Aguirre and Joan Vassos chatted with gold carpet hosts Kathy Swarts and Charity Lawson.

Aguirre said the wedding comes as no surprise. “I remember Theresa coming home the first night from her date, she told me, ‘You know what, this is it.

“I knew right there they were special.”. Vassos added that “It is a love story,” and added that her and the other “Golden Bachelor” ladies are “ready to find love, and 2024 holds a lot for us.”.

I need a guy.”. “We’re toasting to love and to all the single ladies out there,” Swarts said as she drank champagne with her fellow “Golden Bachelor” stars.

The biggest surprise guest just answered our biggest burning question of the night. “Golden Bachelor” runner-up Leslie Fhima just made an appearance on the gold carpet and talked to host Kathy Swarts, who asked her what she would like Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist to know.

“I was very good friends with Theresa, we supported each other through the whole time in the house and all the way through this journey. I’m so happy for her and Gerry.

Soon after Ben Higgins of Season 20 of “The Bachelor” showed up, sending Swarts and Fhima swooning. Fhima danced with him before he sauntered off.

“On a personal note, I actually wasn’t sure that I was going to make it here,” he said. “And that’s because my beautiful wife Emily is at home right now, and we’re expecting the birth of our very first child at any moment.

He told his wife that he loves and misses her and to “please call me if you need anything.”. “I will leave here immediately,” he said.

Swarts, known for telling Nist to “zip it” when she was gushing about one of her dates with Turner quipped: “Who thought it was a good idea to put a microphone in my hand. “.

Women wore floor-length gowns, many strapless despite the temperatures in the low 60s. Beachwood chairs and even couches are looking over the altar, which is surrounded by candles in groups of 10 and hundreds and hundreds of roses.

The new “Bachelor” star this coming season, Joey Graziadei, was seen in a green suit holding court with other Bachelor Nation members, including Wells Adams, the bartender on “Bachelor in Paradise.”. — Amanda Lee Myers and Bryan Alexander.

Vikings, 793 – 900 and Vikings: Valhalla, 1002 – 1066 [4]

Period dramas are a perfect example of the phrase “truth is stranger than fiction.” Humans have been weird for as long as they’ve been around, and historical TV shows do their part in shining a light on so much of that weirdness — or at least as much can be corroborated by historians.

Plenty of these shows are streaming on one service or the other, so here’s a list of the best period dramas most people can watch right now, listed in order of their time period. It’s like going to history class, except a lot of it is made up and it’s also just television.

This show made waves when it aired on HBO for its crazy high production value and constant appearances by historical characters that made it feel more like an Assassin’s Creed game than a TV show, and takes place at the perfect time to start off a chronological viewing of the best period dramas currently streaming.

Taking its inspiration from historical events, Vikings sees Ragnar (Travel Himmel) fight, raid, and plunder to gain power, and then have to battle to keep it. An accomplished warrior and creative strategist with a uniquely philosophical approach to the world, Ragnar is a fascinating, honorable, and brutal leader.

And also, braids. Vikings is a BIG show for fans of elaborate braids.

When the English king destroys all viking settlements in England, some that have thrived since the age of Ragnar, vikings from Norway to Denmark come together to seek retribution. — Kristina Grosspietsch.

Vikings: Valhalla is now streaming on Netflix. If you’re still grumbling to yourself about the final season of Game of Thrones and need a new medieval series to cleanse your palate, The Last Kingdom will certainly do the trick.

Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon) is an Anglo-Saxon warrior who, as a boy, was ripped from his ancestral home and raised by Danes. Because of his unique position hailing from both cultures, as well as his impressive battle prowess, Uhtred finds himself a key player in King Alfred’s quest to unite the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.

Marco Polo is a Netflix original that dramatizes the 13th century Italian explorer’s time serving as a liaison to Kublai Khan, grandson of Genghis and the first Mongol ruler to conquer all of China. It’s a lot more diverse than most period dramas, with a fantastic main cast of east and south Asian actors that wage war, dress in a lot of flowing silks, and backstab the crap out of each other in the Khan’s duplicitous court.

How to watch: Marco Polo is now streaming on Netflix. For anyone wondering what Richard Madden got up to between dying on Game of Thrones and being cast in a Marvel movie, it was Medici: Masters of Florence.

The Borgias tells the story of Pope Alexander’s rise and rule from his perspective as well of that of his scheming bastard children. It’s a very loose interpretation of events, with potentially 100 percent more hitmen and incest than what really happened, but what else would anyone really want from a show about a 15th century Pope’s kids.

— A.N. How to watch: The Borgias is now streaming on Paramount+ and Showtime.

That’s it. That’s the show.

For that we thank The Tudors, and also for being one of Henry Cavill’s first high-profile roles (as the Duke of Suffolk) and giving every casting director on the planet the idea to cast Natalie Dormer as a cool, sneaky queen. That’s right, Anne Boleyn was the original Margaery Tyrell.

How to watch: The Tudors is now streaming on Prime Video, Paramount+, and Showtime. Mark Rylance is an outright wonder in this meaty historical series that follows Sir Thomas Cromwell’s rise to power during the reign of Henry VIII.

This is a highly political drama. He must manipulate, coax, and coerce to get the king what he wants, while protecting his own interests.

One wrong move, and you could find yourself without a head. Based on Hilary Mantel’s novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies, this BBC series is intelligent, complex, and thoroughly riveting — and it features many familiar faces from your other favorite British shows: Damian Lewis, Claire Foy, Tom Holland, Jonathan Pryce, the list goes on.

How to watch: Wolf Hall is now streaming on the Amazon Prime PBS Masterpiece Channel. Kit Harington’s other HBO series is Gunpowder, a miniseries that follows the legendary events of Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot to blow up the British houses of parliament.

Even though pretty much everyone knows how this one ends — there is a literal holiday in England commemorating it — Gunpowder puts a fresh face to the story of Fawkes’ treason and serves as a more than decent window into the past. — A.N.

Some period dramas tell the story of a particular event in history. Versailles tells the story of a place.

His vision, along with the dramatic foibles of his court, form the plot of Versailles, which shoots on location at the standing palace as well as several other era-appropriate chateaux in France. Come for the architecture porn, stay for the super dark royal secrets.

How to watch: Versailles is now streaming on Netflix. Does The Great faithfully follow the true story of Catherine the Great’s infamous coup against her husband Tsar Peter III.

Is it a hilarious, wacky interpretation of Catherine’s story, complete with frog guns, the invention of bowling, slapfights aplenty and an imperial ton of vodka. Yes, absolutely yes.

Sadly, Hulu has cancelled the series after three seasons, so there’ll be no fourth chapter for Catherine and Peter. * — A.N.

How to watch: The Great is now streaming on Hulu. Look, we all wish we could be transported back in time and swept off our feet by a dashing Scotsman fighting for the rights of his people by day and loving us passionately by night, right.

Headstrong and refusing to bow to the cultural expectations for women of the time, Claire quickly catches the eye of Jamie Fraser, a tough and tender Highland warrior, and so begins a sweeping romance that spans continents and centuries.

And did we mention it has a killer score. — K.G.

How to watch: Outlander is now streaming on Netflix and Starz. Most of the shows on this list are about known historical figures, but Harlots is about the women history would rather forget.

What is The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband about? [5]

The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband has been an unexpected hit online – here’s how you can watch it on streaming now and if it’s available on Netflix.

In just a quick scroll, you’ll find a random clip from the middle of a film captioned “part 23”, encouraging viewers to enjoy bite-sized entertainment that gives them an easy out when they feel a twinge of boredom.

for example, the Grimace Shake TikTok trend earlier this summer.

The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband is available on ReelShorts and YouTube.

However, the app’s ads system has been criticized by several users, with one reviewer writing: “Although ReelShort advertises content for as little as a dime per episode, my experience has been that the actual cost is closer to $2 per episode. Like WebToon and other services, you pay for a certain number of coins and then use coins to buy episodes.

Fortunately, the first 20 episodes have been uploaded by ReelShorts to YouTube, where you can watch them for free.

No, The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband isn’t available on Netflix at the time of writing. We’ll update this section if this changes.

The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband appears to be based on a novel published online, following Natalie as she’s forced into a marriage to save her mother’s life.

Her mother constantly taunted and bullied her, while her sister tried to take everything she had, including her boyfriend. However, the most pressing issue was the medical expenses of her foster mother Hannah, the only person who had shown Natalie kindness throughout her life and had raised her since childhood.

After getting married, both Natalie and Sebastian discovered that their partner was keeping something important from them.”. The exact origins of the story are a bit mysterious.

Some list ReelShorts as its publisher, so it’s unclear if it has been written and published online afterward or if it’s genuinely considered source material for the series.

Common Questions About the Wedding Ceremony Order [8]

Just as every couple’s story is unique, so is each couple’s big day—especially when it comes to the wedding ceremony order. Typically, all that’s required of couples who want to wed from a legal standpoint is a completed state-issued marriage license, an exchange of vows, a verbal agreement to enter a marriage contract and a proclamation that the couple is legally wed.

Not sure where to start. Below, we’ve rounded up a variety of wedding ceremony outlines with advice from experts to use as a foundation for the order of events for your own nuptials.

The phrases “traditional wedding ceremony” and “non-religious wedding ceremony” are used interchangeably because neither involve any religious traditions or adheres to a religious structure. This secular ceremony is legally binding and, depending on what the couple wants, comes in many different forms.

During this part of the wedding ceremony, your immediate family, wedding party and, finally, you and your partner walk down the aisle.

Typically, the groomsmen stand behind the groom, and bridesmaids stand behind the bride, but recently some couples have been switching it up. Instead, the bridesmaids stand behind the groom and the groomsmen stand behind the bride.

Another way some couples are straying from tradition is by choosing to walk down the aisle together instead of separately. This method acts as a symbol of the couple continuing, not starting, their love journey together.

This part of the wedding ceremony order is also called the invocation. Once everyone has settled into their place at the altar, the officiant will welcome everyone to the wedding ceremony and thank guests for being present as witnesses.

Wedding readings are texts that you and your partner feel represent your relationship. The readings can be from poems, spiritual texts or even your favorite movie.

Additionally, if you’re planning to include a unity ceremony, such as a sand ceremony or handfasting, that ceremony element can take place at this point in the service. Now it’s time to say, “I do.

Once that is addressed, you can exchange vows. You can deliver your vows publicly or privately if you want more intimacy.

After the declaration of intent and vow exchange, you and your partner exchange rings. The officiant gives each of you the other’s wedding ring.

Now you and your partner are officially married. The officiant will pronounce you and your partner as newlyweds and say you can finally have your first kiss as a married couple.

Generally, the recessional follows the reverse order of the processional, which means the couple leads the way and the officiant is the last to leave. The officiant may exit down the center of the aisle or exit to the side after giving closing remarks and offering instructions to the wedding guests.

Some religions have similar structures while others have strict rules that must be abided by or else the wedding isn’t official. To help ease your mind and make you feel more prepared, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about these religions’ wedding ceremony outlines.

There’s definitely a specific script that most Christian denominations adhere to for the wedding ceremony order of events, but there’s some room for flexibility depending on the denomination. With that said, there’s certainly a basic wedding program template you can follow for a typical Christian ceremony.

After the processional, the officiant welcomes the guests and makes their remarks. Then there are the wedding readings and vow exchange.

Once the couple has their wedding rings on, the officiant pronounces them newlyweds, and they are encouraged to share their first kiss as a married couple. Finally, there is the recessional, which is in the reverse order of the processional.

Before the processional can commence, the couple has to complete two important Jewish rituals, the signing of the ketubah and the bedeken. A ketubah is a marriage contract that the couple signs in front of two appointed witnesses, that aren’t blood-related, before the ceremony.

This ritual comes from the story of Jacob in the Bible, who was deceived into marrying his intended’s sister because she was so heavily veiled.

It’s important to note that for Jewish wedding ceremonies that have both a bride and groom, there’s traditionally a different altar set up than most ceremonies since the groom and his party stand on the left while the bride and her party stand on the right. Next, the bride and groom make their way under the chuppah, a canopy representing love, home and support from loved ones.

(Modern Jewish couples have changed the tradition to the bride and groom circling one another three times and then making a circle together to show equity between them.) The next step is the betrothal blessing, where the rabbi blesses a cup of wine and the couple drinks from the cup. The couple then exchanges rings while the rabbi reads from the ketubah.

The groom then stomps on a glass in a cloth bag, some think this tradition represents the fragility of human relationships, and everyone shouts “mazel tov,” which means congratulations.

Usually, the ceremony is performed in a mosque and officiated by a religious leader, also known as an Imam.

Instead, all the women usually sit around the bride while all the men sit around the groom. Throughout the Nikah ceremony, the bride and groom aren’t allowed to see each other.

The mahr is a ceremonial presentation of cash, gifts or other offerings to the bride from the groom. Once the gifts are exchanged, the Ijab-e-Qubool ritual starts with the Imam asking the bride “Qubool Hai” three times.
